The 5/8 oz. needlefish was designed to be a spearing imitator for the New Jersey summer surf when the fish are looking for spearing in skinny water. However it has proven itself in all types of water from the surf to back waters. At 5" long and 5/8 diameter, it is a slow sinker and rests most horizontally in the water. When crawled on the surface or in the back of the wave, the shaped head will make them slightly swing from side to side.

Its good in low water from the bottom of the tide till mid tide and the reverse. It will sit on top, or you can let it sink and fish it in the middle or bottom of the water column, depending on its depth. It can also be used around the high tide casting them into the shallow water coming over the bar. Generally I think it is best in calm to moderate waters. But as with all needlefish, they are versatile plugs and there aren't many rules.

Each needlefish is crafted from birch hardwood and sealed. Through wire construction with a 220 lb stainless steel hook hanger. Painted and clear coated with an epoxy finish. The belly hook is a #1 4x VMC and the rear just has matching bucktail.
